WHY CORNERSTONE
In traditional building, the cornerstone is laid first, and every other stone is set in reference to it. Get it right, and the whole structure stands true for generations. Get it wrong, and no amount of work above it holds.
We chose the name deliberately. For our founder, Dan Jock, it comes from his Christian faith. Scripture describes Christ as the cornerstone, the one true reference point everything else is built against, and that image shaped how Dan wanted to build a company. Not as a marketing angle, but as a standard he’d have to live up to.
You’ll see that standard in how we operate, whatever you believe. It’s why we tell advisors the truth about our one-way referral policy instead of dangling promises. It’s why we’ll say “you’d be better served elsewhere” when it’s true, why the numbers we put in front of your clients are checked until they’re right, and why the phone gets answered in two rings by someone who takes ownership.
We serve advisors and clients of every background and belief, and we always will. The faith behind the name simply means you can count on the character behind the work.
Retirement plans are long promises. The firm that administers them should think in decades too: about accuracy, about relationships, and about still being here, doing careful work, twenty years from now. That’s the standard the name sets. Everything else we do is aligned to it.
